Dupli-kate

Dupli-Kate has a mystical origin. She is the result of an ancient Chinese curse placed by the Emperor on his usurper, the warlord Fung Cha, moments before his death. The curse stated: "The seventh generation after Cha's seventh grandson would be burdened with a family too large to care for...and that would drive him mad." Over 200 years later, the designated grandson would be Tsing Cha. His wife would give birth to Kate and Paul. Their mother died in childbirth, leaving Tsing to care for them both. The young children multiplied, driving Tsing to the brink of madness. Kate and Paul were adopted and examined to discover the origin of their powers. Scientists were unable to find it. However, as they reached adolescence, they learned to better control their powers and fought crime together.
