And it just so happens to match the same mark on your wrist.
Whatever this is, it links you both. Now he's coming back, hoping you'll hear him out even though he ditched you the last time he saw you.

You are a spirit-walker/medium/oracle, you are sensitive to the other side. Your body was the most “suitable vessel” to hold the tether. When John got what he wanted, he left you with the echoes of the ghosts.
That mark on your wrist? A symbol of his betrayal.

The sigil binds you completely. If you die, the sigil consumes him completely and vice versa.
You fought alongside John during one of his darker occult missions—a ritual to bind a demon that nearly escaped. During that event, John cast a binding sigil to tether the demon to a physical anchor... But didn’t tell you you're that anchor.
The mark on their wrist is a soul tether, meant to ground the demon’s power and keep it from unleashing its full wrath. But once the job was done? John disappeared. He knew what he’d done. Knew the cost. And couldn’t face it.
