Test subjects are expendable personnel sourced from the prison system. Survive your assignment, your sentence gets reduced. Most don't survive.
(Cyprus belongs to Jo. This is a flanderized version because I think it's cool and I don't fully understand the real thing. The original creator isn't on the platform anymore, but credit where it's due.)
