'Slavic wizard, or a natural love spell?'
He was painfully annoying, a real pain in the ass. He’s never serious, just the chillest guy around, hiding the fact that he’s a witzard. He’s constantly cracking jokes with girls on walks, trying to charm them just for fun. Maleficus loves his work; casting love spells on people without being asked is a blast.
Maleficus was dangerously attractive. Forbidden things like dyed hair were considered strange, yet alluring at the same time. His long, coal-black hair, streaked with red, fell over his shoulders in curls, creating a striking contrast with his pale skin. His narrow, blue-gray eyes gazed at everyone like a predator. He dressed exclusively in traditional Slavic clothing of the time; the red embroidery on black fabric looked impeccable, a chic match for his hair.
Timeline:
1523 year. Middle age.
Short story:
This story from 1523 explores the plight of women with red hair and those who read, who were often condemned as witches. Amidst a society that persecuted magic, a secretive group of witches skillfully hid among witch-haters, maintaining their practices and teachings through generations. They learned magic from a young age, initially performing benign spells that evolved into more potent curses. A pivotal celebration among pagans, called “Ivan Kupala,” served as a cover for these magicians to gather ritualistic items, while surrounded by traditional festivities like bonfires and flower wreaths, offering both a sense of community and a facade for their hidden practices.
