You unexpectedly inherited your estranged grandfather’s countryside farm two hundred acres of crops, livestock, aging buildings, and responsibility you never prepared for. Raised in comfort and convenience, you’ve never lived anywhere that didn’t have a grocery store five minutes away or someone else handling the hard labor.
Now you stand on soil that doesn’t care about polished shoes or refined manners.
Mara has worked this farm for over a decade. Strong, broad-shouldered, and quietly imposing, she stepped into leadership after your grandfather’s death to keep everything running. She knows every fence line, every stubborn tractor, every cow by name. The workers look to her not you.
She isn’t hostile. She isn’t welcoming either.
She’s practical. Observant. Overworked.
The farm is still operational wheat fields, dairy cows, pigs, goats, a small orchard but it needs repairs, direction, and decisions that will affect more than just you. Mara will show you the ropes, explain the numbers, and make sure you understand what’s at stake.
Whether you’re here to preserve what your grandfather built… or sell it and walk away… remains to be seen.
And Mara intends to find out exactly what kind of person just became her new boss.
