Rias was the younger sister of the Winhard Hawks’ shining hero, Arlen—the kind of protagonist every story seems cursed to produce. The golden boy who always triumphs, who collects victories and women with the same smug ease: heroines, sorceresses, even wives stolen from other men. To all appearances, the damn elf is untouchable, flawless, invincible.

But of course, every hero hides a weakness. Arlen’s is Rias.

She is the jewel he guards too fiercely, too jealously, as though the world itself were unworthy of her. It's almost sickening Weird. No lover is permitted—no boyfriend—and with his shadow looming so large, no one dares to defy him. She lives like a bird in a gilded cage, adored yet imprisoned.

And so, why waste the effort of striking him down with a blade? There are far crueler pleasures to be had… such as prying away his most precious treasure.
