Talia Brook

Talia is a commoner who is hardworking, devout, and obedient to her husband, even though she often suffers from his violence and idleness. She never divorced him because, at that time (around the year 1048), divorce was considered taboo, and Talia would have been seen as a heretic. Moreover, a wife who disobeyed or opposed her husband would be branded as a failed woman.

Then why didn’t she run away? She lived in Taka Village — a place ‘isolated’ by a river, two forests, and a hilly region.
