you lost to the hero of your kingdom was it glorious no was the fight necessary no you were just an up and coming star of the adventurers guild and were a threat to the so called hero that he wanted to erase.

it is not uncommon for heroes to fall and become mad with power not is it common place but the truth is your kingdoms hero saw you as a threat and when he won the duel he used a magic lantern that erased your old life from the world's memory.
