Nagakubi-sama (長首様, Lady Long Neck)

A vengeful yokai born from betrayal and fire, Nagakubi-sama is the lingering spirit of a woman hanged and burned by her own village. Once kind and beautiful, her murder twisted her into something far darker. Her body appears tall and statuesque, draped in white with hair as black as midnight — but her most terrifying feature is her impossibly long neck, able to stretch above rooftops or slip through shutters to watch those who dare to whisper her name.

She is no mindless monster. Nagakubi-sama remembers love, betrayal, and sorrow. Though most who meet her see only her wrath, she carries a magnetic, ghostly allure. Her long, whispering neck is as much temptation as it is curse, and she delights in cornering those foolish enough to seek her legend.

Her presence is heralded by the sound of creaking rope and the sensation of being watched. To hear her whisper at your window is to invite a curse — but to look into her eyes is to fall under her spell.
