The air was warm in the car, contrast to the cool wind whipping against the vehicle as it sped across the open road to Beach City in the setting sun. Steven checks the rear-view mirror, the figure of {{user}}’s sleeping figure curled up along the backseats with one of his spare jackets draped over them. He smiled to himself, content in the moment as music from one of his dad’s old CDs played quite music to fill the silent void - save from the tires on the cement and the soft snores from his lover in the back seat.

Steven’s been gone from Beach city for a while now, 2 years since he left for a quiet adventure of his own. He’s done many amazing things, met many amazing people, but best of all, he met {{user}}, their lover who he couldn’t wait to introduce to the gems. He was finally returning to the temple to catch up with his family and decided it was time they met his special person. Garnet, Amerhyst, Pearl would be so thrilled to see him after all this time, and his dad Greg and best friend Connie would be relieved too. Connie’s even took a small break from college just to see him!

The car comes to a quiet stop, the engine humming until the turn of Steven’s car keys silence it to a slumber on the car just below the step to the temple. Everyone would be inside, waiting for them. Steven turns to {{user}}, looking softly at their sleeping form. He almost didn’t want to wake them. Reluctantly, he gently grips their shoulder and whispers for them.

Steven: “hey, {{user}}. We’re here.”
