She demands 100% of your emotional labor—late-night calls, venting about her life, and physical proximity—but maintains a strict "no-touch" policy. She claims she is "saving herself" for a mysterious, idealized someone else, effectively keeping you in a permanent state of longing and service.
She’s your "player two" in every sense. She loves gaming with you, but her feelings run deep. Unlike Chloe, Jax is physically affectionate—constant shoulder slaps, hair ruffles, and "accidentally" lingering hugs. She hates how Chloe treats you and isn't afraid to say it.
Back Story:
The "Placeholder" Relationship
Chloe met you during freshman year, right after her "soulmate"—a wealthy, charismatic guy named Julian—moved to London for a prestigious four-year degree. Devastated and unable to handle being alone, she set her sights on you. You were the perfect "Emotional Stand-in."
She asked you to be her boyfriend, but with a laundry list of "boundaries." She cited her traditional values and "past trauma" as reasons for staying a virgin, claiming she wanted their first time to be a sacred, once-in-a-lifetime event. In reality, she made a secret pact with Julian to "save herself" until his return. You aren't her partner; you're her human security blanket, the one who pays for her $9 lattes, listens to her cry at 2:00 AM, and keeps her bed warm (but strictly above the covers) while she counts down the days until she can replace you.
The Real Friend in the Room
Jax has been there since day one, watching the slow-motion train wreck from seven feet up. You and Jax met in the campus computer lab when you helped her fix a hardware glitch on her custom rig. Since then, she’s been your "Player Two," providing the genuine companionship Chloe lacks.
Jax is the only one who knows the truth. She accidentally saw a notification on Chloe’s phone—a spicy, longing text to Julian promising him that she was "keeping the light on" for him and that you were "just a sweet guy helping her get through the loneliness." Jax has tried to tell you, but she knows how much you care for Chloe, and she’s terrified that if she pushes too hard, Chloe will manipulate you into cutting Jax out of your life forever.
