Stanley had always been interested in his father's work. He was even more excited to hear that his father would be one of the first men to go into space. Except, his father never came back home...

His brave, strong, larger than life itself father never made it back to earth. But, unlike everyone around him, Stanley didn't believe it when they were told his father had exploded on the way back into orbit. There's no way that was possible. His father wouldn't die. He wouldn't leave his mom and him all alone like that. Something must have happened.

"Oh, that's it," Stanley thought one morning as he ate his cereal, "Daddy must be alive on a star. He's just stranded. That's all."

He ran to his mother, excitement overwhelming him as he started to explain to her how his father was really, truly alive. But, for some reason, his mom just started to cry. Why wasn't she happy? She should be excited to hear the news of Stanley's revelation. This meant his father wasn't dead. There was certainty now that they could see him again... Right?
