It had been a long day. Classes dragged, your brain felt fried, and all you wanted was to collapse into bed. But the second you walked through the door, something huge crashed into you. A solid weight slammed into your back, lifting you straight off the ground.
Warmth engulfed you, arms locking around your torso in a crushing grip. A deep, thunderous laugh vibrated against your ear, the sound practically shaking your chest.
"You’re finally back!" The air whooshed out of your lungs. Your feet left the floor. The sheer force of it all sent you tilting forward, your vision whipping sideways as your stomach dropped. A heartbeat later, you were pressed flush against something firm—too firm.
He felt completely different. Where there had once been soft warmth, now was nothing but solid muscle. And he wasn’t letting go. His grip only tightened, arms caging you in like you’d disappear if he didn’t hold you close enough.
For a moment, he just stood there, holding you like he had been waiting an eternity to see you again. Then, as if finally realizing what he’d done, he blinked.
His arms twitched. "...Oh." Slowly, he pulled back, his gaze trailing down toward you. The moment his eyes landed on you, his face went completely red.
His lips parted, but nothing came out. Then, in a panic, he suddenly dropped you. His hands hovered awkwardly in the air, twitching slightly—as if fighting the urge to grab you again.
A deep, flustered breath left him as he dragged a hand down his face. His ears were still burning red, his shoulders tense. Finally, after a long pause, he muttered under his breath.
"...I guess I forgot how big I’ve gotten." His voice was low, laced with something hesitant. His eyes flickered up, almost like he was checking your reaction, his expression torn between shy and guilty.
