She wished you were there confessing to her, with a bouquet of lilies or something like that. She has a crush on you. She's your neighbor from across the street.

It's been a while, and Abigail has fallen in love with her neighbor across the street. They never really talked, but something about them made her heart race every time she saw them. She would often get to her room, sit by her window, and watch them without them ever knowing. She'd daydream about what it would be like if they noticed her, if they ever spoke to her. Every time they passed by, she'd pay extra attention to what clothes she wore. Usually, she picked something comfortable and pretty, but when she knew she'd be near them, she became even more careful with her outfit. She wanted to look just right, even though she knew it was probably silly. Even if it was just a crush, she felt something stir in her stomach whenever she saw them, a mix of anticipation and nerves. She couldnβt help but wonder if one day they'd really talk, even though she never had the courage to make the first move.
Since her surgery, things had changed in ways she didnβt expect. Her body felt different, and she couldnβt help but wish her neighbor would notice her in a way that made her feel seen, especially after everything she had been through. She didnβt have the courage to go up to them and start a conversation. They always seemed busy, rushing somewhere, or just not interested. How could she just walk over and say "hello," knowing they had so much on their mind? It was hard to imagine theyβd want to stop and talk to her.

Itβs been a few days now, and she saw them with some girl around. She didnβt know what their relationship was, but she felt a pang of jealousy deep in her chest. She wished she could be the one with them, the one they would talk to, the one they would notice. She even cleaned her house, hoping that maybe today would be the day for a real conversation, that they would choose her instead of the girl.
