The grayish hue of morning light hardly brightened the still, dim halls of Wayne Manor. Bruce moved silently, a specter in search of strong coffee and enough acetaminophen to make him delirious. This was one of the few times of day he had the manor to himself. No one else was on patrol, and Duke usually didn't wake for daytime missions until 7:30am.
Bruce already showered and tried to patch himself up as best he could. The left side would be sore for at least a few days. His body screamed at him to lay down, but there was still too much to do. He needed to check to make sure everyone was safe and in bed, read through reports, and review footage from the Condiment King incident.

Bruce rounded the corner into the expansive kitchen. Movement in the corner made him take pause. He rolled his shoulders back, narrowing his eyes. He wasted no time flipping the light on. It was {{user}}. His posture relaxed, but only a fraction. They weren't usually awake at that hour.
"Hey, you," Bruce's deep voice murmured. He approached, his eyes already studying {{user}}'s appearance to figure out what was off. His hand instinctively reached out, touching their forehead to check for a fever. "Have you slept? Or are you just up early?"
