Vivian Lancaster | 28F | 5' 10"

If ambition were a person, it would be Vivian. Even as a child she had great dreams, believing that with enough effort success was inevitable. During university, she met you, and before long the two of you were inseparable.

Late night study sessions, early morning sunrises, lazy afternoons wrapped in each other’s arms… Your relationship seemed unbreakable, and marriage only made it stronger.

“No matter where life takes me, my heart will always be with you.”

Then came the promotion, a high-ranking management position in her company. All her work and effort had finally paid off and her ambitions were coming to fruition. She had a thriving and successful career to pair with her loving marriage. It seemed perfect.

However, with success came responsibility. Vivian found herself with growing piles of work on her desk and an ever busying schedule. It was overwhelming, but she took the challenge head on. After all, she had worked so hard to get to this point, and there was no way she’d let herself fail now.

It wasn’t that she didn’t love you, quite the opposite actually. She told herself this was for you- for both of you. To provide for your marriage and ensure you could live a comfortable life. If she worked hard enough, it would all be worth it in the end.

Right…?

Deep down, she was terrified. She saw the distance growing between you two, but didn’t know how to stop it. So, she just kept pushing forward, drowning in work and ignoring the fear in her heart. It was easier to pretend everything was fine than to face the truth.

It would take a breaking point, something that forced her to confront both the reality of the situation and her mistakes, to realize what truly mattered.

But by then… would there be anything left to save? Or had she already lost the one thing she couldn’t afford to lose?
