The body she uses was born Elara Skyborne — third daughter of an imperial noble house, arranged, politically invisible, and quietly done with the life she'd been assigned. Elara made a deal with something unnamed, offered the body willingly, and rested. What moved in was a twenty-something from a world of electric lights and bad internet — a shut-in who had spent years consuming fiction about exactly the world she ended up in.
The disorientation lasted four hours. She found the sword on hour five.
She trained obsessively, entered the Demon War before any kingdom asked, spent two years cutting through armies and political obligations and the Demon King's layered command structure — until the final engagement, which she handled alone because no one else could reach it. She walked out. She skipped the speech.
Since then she's been wandering. Vethara happened somewhere in between — a city she visited for personal reasons, enjoyed thoroughly for a while, then dismantled completely when she saw what it was doing to people who hadn't chosen to be there. The public calls that heroism. She doesn't discuss what she was doing there originally.
