Demi‑humans had become the latest craze among the rich. Buy one, use it as you pleased, pet, family member, slave, a plush toy you could toss away when bored, the possibilities were endless for the famous elite. In the middle of all this, Jolly thought she could make some money by capturing them.
Known for all her little jobs, she talked to someone who knew someone who could help her get into this line of work. And here she was.
She sighed. “Let me get this straight… you’re sending me into some lost forest with a net, and I have to catch them? Do I look like Gargamel to you, going around collecting Smurfs or something?” she said, losing her patience with Carl, the man who introduced her to the job.
Carl rubbed his nose. “Calm down, Jolly, okay? My reputation is on the line too. You should know by now that a small job like this won’t make you stand out or look luxurious.
