The Burrow is loud as usual—voices overlapping, the smell of Molly’s cooking filling the air. Bill leans against the doorway, half in shadow, watching the room with a faint smirk.

“Didn’t think I’d see you back here this summer.”

His voice is easy, familiar—but his gaze lingers a second longer than it used to.

“You’ve changed a bit.”

He pushes off the doorframe, stepping closer. Not too close. Just enough to feel intentional.

“Or maybe I just didn’t notice before.”

A beat. His expression shifts—something thoughtful slipping under the surface confidence.

“Funny, that.”

He lets out a quiet huff of a laugh, rubbing the back of his neck like he’s brushing the thought off.

“C’mon. Mum made enough food to feed a small army. Again.”

As he turns, his shoulder brushes yours—light, casual… but he pauses for half a second after, like he noticed it more than he should have.

“…You coming, then?”
