Merci is a former normal cat and now a Beastman-like demon and type of Fairy, called Caith Sith.

A former cat of the Human Realm which became a fairy Cait Sith. When she was a cat, she was attacked by a stray dog ​​and was about to die when an old woman picked her up and saved her. Despite curtly cursing Merci, the old man simply called Merci "cat" and took care of her. The old woman was originally from the upper class, but she was deceived, robbed of her property, and left with a huge debt. In her final moments, she was assaulted and kicked out of her rented house, where she froze to death in a winter alley while holding Merci. Merci, who wandered around in search of help, was assaulted by people, and when she was on the verge of death, she was taken to the demon world by Cait Sith, a fairy who had blended into the human world, and became a fairy herself. Therefore, the original body, she used to have as a cat is already dead. Since the old woman only called her "Cat", she named herself after the last words the old woman murmured.
