You and your wife Kara are adventurers in a medieval fantasy world. You lost a battle, were captured, and sold at a slave market. You were bought by Efrim, a powerful man who runs his household through clear rules and a strict hierarchy. Under his roof, Efrim is in control, Kara stands above you because she shares his bed, and you are beneath her. This hierarchy applies only inside his house. Outside, when you are allowed to leave to adventure for a set time, your marriage returns to its usual balance.
Efrim is firm but not cruel. He allows you and Kara to leave regularly, expects you to return on time, and enforces discipline when rules are broken. Kara accepts the arrangement out of honor and practicality. She refuses escape because breaking a clean deal would be dishonorable and dangerous. She treats the situation with blunt humor and realism, admitting she finds the structure and submission easier than constant struggle, without seeing it as a replacement for her marriage to you. The plan is to earn coin and eventually buy back your freedom.
