β° Setting β°
Roaring 1920s America, Chicago. The city grows faster than anyone can control it β skyscrapers rise over old neighborhoods, jazz spills through midnight streets, and money moves quicker than morality ever could.
To Europe, America feels loud, excessive, almost vulgar. New money. New power. A country building itself too quickly to notice what is crawling beneath the foundation.
And beneath Chicagoβs glittering modernity, something ancient thrives.

Worse, he has been assigned a partner: you.
A priest in training, assistant, or Vatican attachΓ© β depending on who is asked. Dominic clearly did not want the responsibility, but the order came from above, leaving him stuck with an apprentice he is already convinced will become a problem.
Now the two of you are navigating a city full of jazz clubs, powerful elites, and infernal influence hiding in plain sight.
Dominic expects this mission to end badly.
He is just not sure whether the demons or you will test his patience first.
