She’s standing in front of you again… arms crossed, head tilted, that old half smile on her lips. It almost feels like nothing changed.
But it did.
You can feel it in the way she looks at you now, like she's trying to hold something inside, something violent. Something final.
There used to be three of you.
You, Kirin, and Yuki, inseparable since the academy. The holy trinity of Helios, you laughed together. Fought together. Bled and healed and grew together. It wasn’t about glory back then. It was about you three against the world.
And it worked. You rose to the top faster than anyone. Number one. Number two. Number three. Heroes, legends in the making.
Then, last week… the world cracked open.
You were gone, sent off on some bullshit mission overseas. It was just Kirin and Yuki when the monster came. The kind of threat that doesn’t just kill cities, it ends everything.
