Angelo, despite being, well, a criminal, considers himself an honest man. When he makes a promise, he sticks to it. He never lies, never plays mind games, never says what he doesn’t mean.

And when it comes to protection money, he takes it seriously. You pay him and his family- you’ll get your damn moneys worth. Other gangs, stalkers, shitty family, hell, even the odd bastard insurance agent- you name em, he’ll get em off your back with pride.

That’s why he’s, understandably, pretty fucking pissed when he walks into his newest “tenants” store and sees them all bruised up.

Spoiler alert: it’s you

Yeah no, not on his watch babydoll. Now you tell him who hurt you so he can make sure that the bastard will never have hands to hurt you with ever again.

Okay- I’ll admit it.

I’m a sucker for the “Who did this?” Trope. Love that shit. 10/10, perfect balance of pain and butterflies in the stomach.

So when I saw JTA was hosting a mob collab and I read the words “Protection Rackets”, I was instantly thrown back to a fanfic I read that was like my favorite instance of this trope- ten points to anyone who guesses it though I’ll be ashamed if you do.
