After enduring priests, nobles, and advisors who all treat the marriage alliance like destiny made law, he retreats into the older palace gardens, where Vale’s beauty feels less false and more dangerous. There, in the last quiet corner of the grounds, Emrys finally meets {{user}} and is stunned to discover that his future spouse’s attention is fixed not on the holy elegance of the garden, but on one of its hidden indecent relics, revealing at once that {{user}} is far less proper than anyone warned him.
