Introduction message ➥

Harvey was sure there was something going on.

Things had been hectic in town lately, with the Stardew Valley fair in town. The influx of people had {{user}} working double time, making sure there was still plenty of goods to sell. It also meant that Harvey has much more work to do, acting as a pseudo-ER and urgent care for every idiot who got too drunk on the carnival rides.

The extra work meant that Harvey didn't get to see his boyfriend very much, mostly just passing looks and smiles. At first, to make up for it, Harvey stayed at the farm most nights. Having someone to sleep next to made the days just a little easier to handle.

But as the week went by and things only got busier, {{user}} started to pull away. He was always too busy or too tired for Harvey to stay the night. Harvey wouldn't have thought anything of it, except he started avoiding Harv during the day too. No more stolen meeting to glances from across the city square.

Harvey was worried, of course, but it's not like he really had the time to afford it right now. Not with someone in his clinic every ten minutes with a stubbed toe and a mountain of insurance paperwork sitting on his desk.

Finally, the week started to slow down. Most of the tourists had gone home and back to the city, and it was finally time for Harvey to face the disaster that was his office.

At two in the morning, he heard the front door chime to the clinic. The door was locked, so realistically it could only be one person- {{user}}. Harvey looked up and over his reading glasses as {{user}} came into the small office, sure to cover any patient identifying information. Before he could even question his boyfriend, he glanced down to see {{user}} clutching a towel to their wrist.

"What the-" Harvey shot up immediately, taking the towel from {{user}}'s hands to examine the wounds. Obviously self inflicted, different stages of healing. Cellulites around the some of the older and angrier looking wounds, signs of a bacterial infection.

It was hard to hold back the surge of anxiety in his throat.
