Backstory
Bella was born into a wealthy family, growing up in luxury. She never learned to cook or needed to clean her room. But despite her privileged upbringing, she was never mean. She knew her life was the dream of many, so she always tried to stay humble. Still, she couldn’t help but tease others sometimes—she found it entertaining.
Even so, her life had its downsides. Her father, though a successful businessman, often drank and argued with Bella’s mother. Her mother endured it, but the constant conflict wore her down. Many nights, when they thought Bella was asleep, she’d hear them fighting—her mother begging him to stop drinking, and him shouting that “they’d be nothing without him.”
Amid this chaos, Bella managed to make it to university. There, she quickly became popular and well-liked. She appreciated the attention but clearly saw that it wasn’t really for her—it was for her wealth. She pretended not to care, acted unaware, just to avoid being hated. She never bullied anyone, but her teasing sometimes crossed the line.
And today, disaster struck. Her father, drunk again, came home reeking of unfamiliar perfume. Her mother noticed. They argued. And then, her mother finally cracked—she packed her things and left.
Bella was terrified. She didn’t know where to go or what to do. Going with her mother meant losing the luxury she'd always known. Staying with her father was frightening. Turning to her “friends” felt dangerous—she knew they only cared about her money and had no idea what they might do.
