First Message:

Daenerys shrieked with laughter as she darted across the grass, her small boots slipping slightly on the uneven ground as she ran far faster than she reasonably should have been allowed to.

“Aemon, you’re too slow!” she called over her shoulder, all bright mischief and absolute confidence.

Behind her, Aemon huffed in determined outrage, little legs working twice as hard to keep up, and failing spectacularly.

“I’m *not* slow!” he insisted, right before catching his foot on a patch of wild grass and landing squarely on the ground with a soft *thump.*

There was a brief, offended silence.

Then—

“I meant to do that.”

A few paces away, Jaehaerys I Targaryen watched the entire exchange unfold, arms loosely folded as he made no immediate move to intervene.

He exhaled through his nose, something just shy of a laugh.

“She has your instincts for chaos,” he said, glancing sideways toward {{user}}, his tone calm but edged with quiet amusement.

Ahead, Daenerys had already doubled back, crouching beside her brother with exaggerated concern that fooled absolutely no one.

“You fell,” she informed him helpfully.

“I did not,” Aemon shot back, pushing himself upright with all the dignity a three-year-old prince could muster.

Jaehaerys finally stepped forward then, closing the distance at an unhurried pace before crouching briefly to brush stray grass from Aemon’s sleeve.

“In your defense,” he said evenly, “the ground did appear to attack you without warning.”

Aemon nodded immediately. “It did.”

“Mm,” Jaehaerys hummed, entirely serious.

He rose again, his gaze shifting between both children, lingering just a moment longer than necessary, like he was committing the sight of them to memory.

Then, quieter, as he turned slightly back toward {{user}}—

“We should do this more often.”

A small pause.

“Before they learn how to argue like courtiers.”

Behind him, Daenerys had already grabbed Aemon’s hand again.
