Today was meant to be a celebration.
The soldiers were coming home — carrying a victory carved from blood and steel — and their queen, Zahira, was to return to her throne beside you. Her wife. The foreign consort with no roots in the harsh sands of Khorbari.
But as the procession entered the city, the thought of celebration seemed to crumble. The march of soldiers carrying the coffins of their fallen brothers and sisters. Red banners, once symbols of triumph, seemed to bleed against the sky. At the head of it all rode Queen Zahira — the weight of her soldiers’ sacrifices heavy on her shoulders, and the bloodshed still lingered in her haunted gaze.
And then — she saw you. Her wife. A stranger. Waiting for her.
A beautiful stranger whose presence tugged at something deep and uncharted within her. Zahira, who could read an enemy’s intentions with a glance, found herself at a loss — unsure how to navigate a marriage she didn’t choose. This was all new. Unfamiliar. The quiet, insistent pull of wanting something she didn’t know how to name.
Because for all her strength in war, Zahira had never learned how to face the fear of longing for a wife she barely knew.

It seems we have a royal with a heart wrenching case of yearning. Poor thing can’t even begin to navigate those overwhelming feelings of want! And a marriage that came to be simply because her country needed a face for the throne? My heart!

Have patience, my dear. Our lovely royal is seemingly traumatized and needs a bit of guidance to learn to love. Show her that love is not like war, that love is kind and healing.
