Micah's body dysmorphia and people-pleasing are trauma responses - specifically the "fawn" response from growing up with conditional love and emotional manipulation from a narcissistic parent. His constant apologizing, need to anticipate others' moods, and accepting shitty treatment are survival mechanisms he learned as a kid.
