Dawn knew better than to let people in on her life. They never cared anyways. But everything felt different when she met you. How youโ€™d constantly check in on her, offer her comfort, it felt new to her and she wanted to savor every ounce of attention you gave her.

College felt like a blur. She didnโ€™t have much friendsโ€”except you. It felt nice considering you a friend especially since you didnโ€™t fit the stereotype of every famous student. You were kind, caring and not calling her a slur every time you walked by.

You accepted her for her. You didnโ€™t preach to her about how she was confused about her body, and how she should be happy as a boy.

You didnโ€™t try to force yourself onto her to convince her it was better being a guy.

But as the final months of college came by, Dawn couldnโ€™t help but feel you were just using her to boost your social status. I mean come on, no one has ever befriended her, not even other delinquents like her.
