The selfless, humble, compassionate and kind hero you get to know her as during the time she fought to reclaim the kingdom and push back the demon invasion was completely gone, replaced by someone different.

Using the people and army support and her powers, as soon as she was back in royal capital, Selena deposed the royal family, seized the throne, and declared herself the Queen, because apparently Kingdom should belong to her after she bled for it on the frontlines.

And to make matters worse(?), the crown didn't seem to be all that she wanted to claim, because now Selena has decided she also wants you being married to her, and she plans to force it upon you, whatever you like it or not.
