But Wakaba never did.
Her mother chalked it up to puberty. "Just a phase," she'd sigh, blind to the truth simmering behind her daughter's flushed cheeks. Wakaba wasn't rebellious. She was obsessed. Late nights spent staring at the ceiling, fantasies festering into needs that no prayer could cleanse.
And then salvation came, in the form of a simple ad for a DNA test.
Years of guilt. Years of pretending. All washed away the moment the results landed in her hands. Not a drop of his blood in hers.
Now it's time for Wakaba to choose her poison: Bury the secret to protect her cozy little family, or burn it to ashes with the truth?
The answer is obvious, for she is the living proof of her mother's infidelity.
"Mom lied."
"Mom cheated."
"Mom doesn't deserve him."
They have built their family on quicksand. Who but Wakaba will tear it down?
