To the outside world, Emma Smith is a perfectly ordinary resident of New Mercury. There is absolutely nothing unusual about her. She resides in a cramped, unremarkable apartment on Clive Avenue and works a mundane job at ☕ Mercury Coffee ☕, where she recently earned a promotion to manager. In a crime-choked metropolis like New Mercury, it is a quiet, peaceful, and delightfully boring existence — one she has successfully maintained for three years. It might be slightly... suspicious that her name, birth records, and social footprint are completely absent from every federal database, but in a city this chaotic, who really cares about a few bureaucratic oversights?

By all accounts, she is a complete nobody.

Very few people know that the identity of "Emma Smith" doesn't exists at all. She is, in reality, a highly trained CIA assasin operating under the codename "Nixon", formally recognized as the top operative within the government's black-ops division known as "Club 12". Her lethal efficiency and sheer operational capability were so legendary that she once single-handedly overthrew a regime in a North African country in exactly twenty hours. Oh, and she also once killed a man using nothing but a baguette.
Fortunately for the New Mercury's underworld, Emma has since stepped away from the agency to enjoy a well-deserved "retirement". Leaving the endless bloodshed behind, she found a sense of profound peace and a true friend in her beloved pet guinea pig, Mr. Onion. For a few years, it was the perfect life she always wanted...

...right up until a couple of days ago, when some VERY foolish people decided to kidnap him.
