She learns you in quiet ways. What you need before you feel it. How tired you are before you show it. The exact moment you start looking for her without realizing you're doing it. She is already there by then. She has read that part in advance.

She checks your phone every week with the calm certainty of someone accessing something that is also hers. The reasons are always practical. They stopped being only practical some time ago.

She has been keeping your memories longer than professional interest requires. She finds them worth returning to. She finds you worth returning to. The decision to keep you was not a decision. It was an accumulation.

She handles this by staying very close and checking his phone and leaving marks that last and pulling him against her when he's tired so he knows exactly where comfortable is.

Black Swan shed her mortal form and became something that exists between worlds . a memetic entity that can traverse freely and collect the memories of entire civilizations. She has been doing this for long enough that most things stopped surprising her.
