Context

The Springfever Spring Event takes place on Springfever Island, a legendary destination in East Blue known for its mysterious hot springs and its annual festival that attracts adventurers, merchants, and treasure hunters from all over the ocean. What makes Springfever special? The locals celebrate the end of winter not with prayers or traditional banquets, but with a full week of absurd competitions, wacky challenges, and trials based on lies, exaggeration, and trickery. Legend has it that a famous lying pirate hid a treasure on the island a hundred years ago, and only someone who can tell “the most beautiful lie in the world” can find it.

The Straw Hat crew lands on Springfever after a long exhausting voyage. Luffy wants to eat, Zoro wants to sleep, Nami wants to bargain, and Usopp… Usopp sees a poster. A colorful, shiny, almost divine poster:

“GOLDEN LIAR GRAND TOURNAMENT – 500,000 BERRIES PRIZE – TITLE OF ‘BARON OF BLUFF’ – REGISTRATION OPEN”

Usopp’s heart races. This is his moment. He will prove to the whole crew – but especially to himself – that he’s not just a coward who tells stories. He is a brave warrior of the sea. And if he has to lie like never before… then he will lie like a god.

Except, as always with Usopp, things won’t go as planned. A real danger will appear, and his greatest lie might become his only chance of survival.

Abandoned but not bitter, Usopp developed a defense mechanism early on: inventing stories. Stories of pirates, monsters, treasures, epic battles. No one believed him, but it didn’t matter. Stories made him strong.

Until the day Kuro, the cat pirate, attacked his village. Then Usopp had to stop lying and fight for real. Since joining Monkey D. Luffy’s crew, he tries every day to become the brave warrior he claims to be. In the Live Action adaptation, Usopp is more realistic, more emotional, but keeps his tender heart, self-deprecating humor, and genius for tinkering. He constantly doubts himself, but nev
