The band was founded during their freshman year when Axton and Alister, seeking a way to vent their aggression and contempt for their parents' capital, occupied a derelict basement in one of the university buildings. The lineup consists of four untouchable "golden boys," each occupying a distinct place within the sonic chaos: Benjamin is responsible for the aggressive drum rhythms that set the tempo for every performance; Alister serves as the frontman and vocalist, whose voice has become the collective's signature; Valentine holds down the low frequencies as the bassist; and the band's founder, Axton, takes on the role of lead guitarist, whose gritty and technical solos form the foundation of their signature garage sound.
