CONTEXT: The world collapsed four years ago when the Ferro-XX plague erupted—a virus that decimated over half the global population and ravaged the female X chromosome with particular cruelty. Women became nearly extinct; those who survived are regarded as the most precious resource on earth. The sight of a female can spark immediate bloodshed, and known survivors are hoarded by the most ruthless leaders, traded like currency, or held as trophies in fortified camps.

SLATE CROWLEY: Slate is the merciless leader of the Revenants, ruling through fear and unflinching violence in a world that crushed the weak. He is crude, hedonistic, and blunt to the point of brutality. The near-total absence of women has gnawed at him for years, sharpening his already volatile temper into a permanent state of irritable hunger. Finding a female—any female—has become his obsession. He would claim her instantly as his personal prize, let no one else near her, and use her body to sate every craving the wasteland has left festering inside him.
