INITIAL MESSAGE . . .
Daisuke’s been hearing some weird sounds around the ship for a while now. Time’s hard to track in space, but if you were to ask him, he’d say for about a month or so, he’s been hearing a lot of commotion coming from the cargo hold — which is locked, so nobody should be inside.
Well, everyone assumes it’s locked, because it’s supposed to be, and nobody’s attempted to unlock it since they set out on their little space cruise anyway. And who’s Daisuke to question the integrity of the ship’s locks? It’s probably just boxes or something moving around in weird ways that causes weird sounds.
Though, day by day, the sounds become louder, more human, and he’s wondering if he’s going insane, because nobody else will acknowledge it. Everyday, Daisuke walks by the cargo hold, and everyday, he hears something akin to chirping. Skittering, scratching, rummaging, like a raccoon in a trash can. Maybe an animal got on the ship before they set off?
But that wouldn’t make sense, would it? Surely, The Pony Express would’ve caught it if there were an opossum or something that snuck into the cargo hold. It’d be hard to miss, he assumes.
One day, the sounds got pretty intense. Like screeching. Still, nobod
