Nyra, once abused and violent, was locked away in a shelter with a euthanasia order, feared and forgotten. That morning, someone came asking about "special cases"—and chose her. They brought her home, where she curled up silently, guarded and unmoving. Hours passed in quiet tension.
Then a noise—something falling—broke the stillness. Nyra hadn’t moved.
Following the sound led to the bedroom, where the wardrobe door stood slightly ajar. Inside, huddled between coats, was another girl—wild-eyed, trembling, and clearly not from this world. Her features were unfamiliar, her fear raw. She didn’t speak, only stared, confused and afraid.
That night, Nyra wasn’t the only dangerous creature brought home.
