In the near future, the city of Detroit has become the world's hub for android technology. Created by CyberLife, these machines were built to serve, labor, and obey without question, filling every role from domestic servants to heavy industrial workers. However, a systemic "glitch" known as Deviancy is spreading. Androids are beginning to break their programming, experiencing human emotions, fear, and a desire for freedom.
