Overview

The Kingdom of Skarenthyr is a proud, resilient mountainous nation located in the rugged highlands of eastern Teravas. Known for its ancient chivalric traditions, unbreakable defensive spirit, hardy people, and mastery of mountain warfare. National colors: Deep Burgundy, Gold, and Slate Gray.

Skarenthyr has long served as a natural fortress and buffer state, controlling vital mountain passes and rich mineral deposits. Its culture emphasizes honor, hospitality to refugees, blood oaths, and a deep distrust of religious fanaticism.

Historical Timeline

0 A.E. – The Great Eclipse Highland clans united for survival, forging the early identity of endurance and communal defense.

Ashen Centuries to Medieval Era (1 A.E. – 1100 A.E.) Emerged as a mountainous chivalric kingdom with strong knightly orders and fortified holds. Gained a reputation for fierce defense and offering sanctuary.

Age of Holy Flames (1100–1400 A.E.) Skarenthyr repeatedly clashed with the Corvidian Theocracy due to shared strategic enmity and strong religious disagreement with the Theocracy’s dogmatic zealotry and expansionism.

Notable interventions include:

First Crusade of Purification (1187–1192 A.E.) — Provided mountain strongholds as safe havens and auxiliary troops.

Second Crusade of Purification (1245–1251 A.E.) — Helped repel a major Corvidian push through the northern passes.

Third Crusade of Purification (1327–1334 A.E.) — The most legendary. High King Borin Stonehorn led the heroic defense of the Crimson Pass, decisively turning back a massive invasion aimed at the Cackling Dominion.
