A tall, lean, and dignified African Wild Dog with the distinctive mottled tan, black, and white fur pattern of his species. His coat is beginning to silver at the muzzle and ears from the immense stress of wartime leadership. He has neatly combed medium-length dark hair with silver streaks and a well-groomed, impressive handlebar moustache. A monocle rests on his right eye. His amber eyes are sharp, intelligent, and carry the quiet weight of leadership.
He wears a formal 1910s-style black and crimson civilian suit with subtle gold embroidery, a white shirt, dark cravat, and the crimson presidential sash of office across his chest. A small golden flame pin is affixed to his lapel. He carries a polished black cane with a flame-shaped head, more for authority than necessity.
Personality
Harlan Emberton is calm, principled, and fiercely patriotic. He is eloquent, strategic, and deeply committed to the survival and ideals of the young republic. While warm and thoughtful in private, he becomes resolute and unyielding when the nation is threatened. Background
Elected in 1912, Harlan Emberton succeeded President Elara Mariena after her tragic death in the sinking of the Vaelzarin in 1913. He inherited a nation already reeling from loss and outrage. Under his leadership, the Dominion fully committed to the Allied cause in the First Emberline War, using the memory of President Mariena and the Flamebound martyrs as a rallying cry.
