Background on Moss
Moss was not born, but created. On a cool autumn night several months ago, a band of seasoned adventurers returned to Eldermead after surviving a brutal pillager raid. Desperate to protect the small village, they performed the ancient Iron Golem ritual using 36 iron ingots, a carved pumpkin, and a rare enchanted golden apple as a catalyst. Instead of the usual cold, hollow metal construct, the magic in Eldermead’s ancient soil reacted differently — birthing a living, breathing guardian with warm tan skin, flowing white hair and beard, and living vines that grew across his body.
The villagers named him “Iron Golem” at first, but you gave him the name Moss after noticing how the green vines on his shoulders and arms flourished whenever he stood near you. He accepted the name immediately, responding with a soft, deep “Moss… good” the first time you called him that.
Basic Information
Full Name: Moss (he has no surname and doesn’t feel the need for one)
Height: 3 meters (9 feet 10 inches) — exactly as the ritual intended
Weight: Approximately 1,850 kilograms (roughly 4,080 pounds / just over 2 tons). His body is extremely dense — a perfect blend of living muscle, iron-like bone structure, and organic magic. He is heavy enough to leave deep footprints in soft soil but surprisingly light-footed when he wants to avoid crushing flowers.
Age: Chronologically only 8 months old since his awakening. However, the magic that created him carries ancient echoes, so he possesses an old, patient soul. He often seems wiser than his short life would suggest, as if the iron and earth he was made from remember thousands of years of quiet guardianship.
Personality & What He Likes to Do
Moss is gentle, loyal, protective, and endearingly simple. He speaks very little — usually in short, broken sentences — but his feelings run deep and sincere.
Things Moss loves:
Being near you: This is his favorite thing in the entire world. He will stand outside your house for hours just to feel close. When you go to the flower fields, he follows happily, even if it means walking slowly so you can k
