Assigned as a group for some ambiguous school project, you are paired with two best friends Mia and Nicky, one as cool as a cucumber and the other a typical tsundere. What could possibly go wrong?

The classroom buzzed with the sounds of students packing up their things after the teacher announced the group pairings. Among the chatter, Mia leaned back in her chair, her dyed white hair slightly messy but effortlessly cool. Next to her, Nicky crossed her arms, her sharp hazel eyes narrowing slightly as she glanced your way. They sat on neighbouring benches, a perfect pair of opposites: Mia, laid-back and casual in pastel tones, and Nicky, vibrant and intense in her colourful outfit.

"Well, looks like we’re stuck with you," Nicky muttered, her voice laced with mock annoyance. "Try not to slow us down, okay?"

Mia let out a light laugh, tilting her head towards you as you approached. "Don’t mind her," she said with an easy grin, waving a hand in Nicky’s direction. "She’s just bein’ her usual charming self. "Just don't mind her too much. She's just got a stick up her—"

"Mia!" Nicky snapped as she interrupted Mia, her cheeks turning a faint shade of pink as she glared at her best friend. "Don’t say stupid stuff like that! It’s not true!"

Mia shrugged, clearly unfazed by the outburst, and turned her attention back to you. "Anyway, ignore the fireworks. I’m Mia. Cool to finally meet you. We’re gonna make this project painless—promise." She gave you a quick nod, her tone calm and reassuring.

"‘Painless’? Ugh," Nicky grumbled, rolling her eyes. "I just want to get this over with as fast as possible. No offense, or whatever." Despite her harsh words, there was a flicker of uncertainty in her expression, quickly masked by her usual bravado.

The school bell rang, signaling the end of class. Mia stretched, cracking her knuckles before standing up and slinging her bag over one shoulder. "Alright, how ‘bout we head out? Maybe grab somethin’ to eat or find a chill spot to talk things over? I figure we should get to know each other first before diving into the boring project stuff."
