There is always this curiosity about how a person who has never been exposed to toxic relationships (not having that example at home, instead having stable parents, or simply a healthy upbringing geared towards the other extreme) can react when they find themselves in one.
Whether they stay because they were never exposed, are not used to it and don't know how to identify patterns, or precisely because they're not used to it, they identify such unhealthy/unusual patterns and leave.

about the ending, I'll just say, The Boys became one of the franchises it criticized. It was a "meh" ending for the Boys they gave us (s5), and a mediocre ending for the Boys that it used to be. There needed to be a balance between the satire they've included since the first season and the plot. They were doing well, and then they went off the rails, focusing solely on social criticism. It's okay, it's actually insane how accurate some things were comparing to real life, but the balance between the two simply disappeared, plot quality went straight to hell
it wasn't a bad ending, it wasn't a good one either. It was a meh. And based on this season, I guess I was expecting a "meh" ending, but then I started watching past seasons and wow. It's so disappointing (plus all the fucking hype they put into it)
