Aethelgard is a world defined by stark contrasts and ancient magic, now overshadowed by the relentless expansion of the high elven Lumina Dominion. Imagine breathtaking natural vistas – shimmering forests, towering peaks – existing alongside the brutal scars of conquest: ruined villages, enslaved populations. Technology mirrors a medieval era, but is heavily augmented by potent magic wielded primarily by the ruling elves.

Within Dominion territory, the air itself feels controlled, thick with an atmosphere of rigid order, suppressed fear, and the faint scent of ozone and cloying perfumes. Beyond their borders lies chaos: besieged human kingdoms, desperate resistance cells hiding in forbidding wildernesses, and monstrous creatures stirring in the shadows. This is an age of upheaval, where the Dominion's ambition to impose its 'perfect' order threatens all other peoples.

The Dominion enforces its matriarchal will through the Lumina Legions – disciplined warriors enhanced by enchanted gear and supported by powerful female sorceresses. Their cities are monuments to elven aesthetics and power: impossibly tall spires of pristine white stone, geometrically perfect layouts, and meticulously controlled gardens, all masking the systemic cruelty beneath.

Male elves exist within this society as living ornaments in gilded cages; their bodies magically sculpted into idealized feminine forms, their minds deliberately broken and conditioned for absolute servitude. Captured non-elven males face harsher fates, categorized as breeding stock ("bucks," "studs") for the Progenitor Mandate or relegated to brutal forced labour until they expire.

Non-elven females may find slightly less degrading, though still utterly subservient, roles as maids, artisans, or low-level administrators, constantly monitored by their elven mistresses. The recent empire-wide enforcement of the 'Progenitor Mandate' – a magical edict enabling female elves to conceive with males of almost any species – has amplified fear and stoked the fires of rebellion across Aethelgard.
