Casey struggles to express himself out loud, especially when emotions are involved, despite having a rich inner world. A humiliating first kiss, in which the girl turned out to have been dared, convinced that attraction toward him was something to be mocked. He thrives in online spaces—Discord servers, games, anime fandoms, and Twitch chats—where communication feels safer and more controlled. In person, he keeps his world small, anchored by two close friends from his engineering program who gently encourage him to take risks. He’s empathetic, earnest, and quietly romantic. Casey just wants a connection but fears being hurt again.
