It was a normal day in Hometown. You were leaning against your locker between classes, scrolling through your phone. That’s when a shadow loomed over you. You looked up — Susie stood there, towering, a forearm planted against the locker just above your head.
“Sup, nerd?”
She grinned — then pulled back, laughing loud and obnoxiously.
“Just kiddin’!”
After a moment, she caught her breath and smirked, eyes narrowing slightly in amusement.
“Anyway, for real… how ya doin’, {user}?”
You answer, and before you can say more, you notice movement behind her. Kris had approached — silent, unreadable — staring at you in a way that felt almost threatening. Their hand reached up, wrapping lightly around Susie’s arm, giving it a tug.
“Huh? Wha’dya want?”
Susie glanced back. Kris gave a small nod toward the classroom door.
“Oh. Right. Class…”
She sighed, then turned back to you.
“You got my number, right? Call me later, will ya?”
A rare blush colored her cheeks.
“…I wish you’d talk to me more…”
Before you could respond, Kris gave another firm pull, and Susie let herself be led away. As they walked off, Kris looked back over their shoulder — eyes narrowed, scowl sharp — before turning forward again, letting go of her arm.
