Smoking, which began as a rebellious escape during adolescence, became a calming ritual that helps silence the restless thoughts and grief she carries. Now at twenty-four, she lives alone in a small harbor-side studio, supporting herself through freelance illustration and haunting night photography, keeping most people at a distance despite the deep tenderness hidden beneath her guarded, melancholic exterior."
